Usually, when you're turned off by a technical book, it isn't because you're too stupid to read it - it's because the concepts lack illustration in a way that promotes stimulation. This book has big helpings of illustrations made especially to enhance the experiences of learning what would otherwise be difficult or at the least abstract ideas in statics. The thrust is architecture, but the worth of the book goes beyond architecture into engineering. Excellent for community college courses in construction and mechanics.

Having had a problem with this case. I would recommend it if you are looking for something stylist and durable.

this was a required book for a course on structural engineering. was very glad to see it available used, here on amazon. the price was awesome, and the condition of the book was acceptable. the book itself takes a bit to warm up to, as it's quite theoretical, but eventually gets into more realistic scenarios. it makes for a gresat introduction.

this is a great service, renting for $60 instead of paying $130 at the bookstore. I've only used the book a few times in class, so I'm less bitter about being robbed by the publisher because I paid so much less.

Just what I needed.

I rented this book and it was damaged when i received it, not having time to return it for a different one before the semester started I just decided to use it thinking amazon knew about the damages because it was in "acceptable" condition. When i returned the book, they charged me for damages resulting in a payment of the full price book.Regarding the content of the book, the organization was a little hard to follow but the content was good. My professor said he has used it for several years. It illustrates problems and solutions well.
