This type of mat was recommended to me by a friend who is a professional Sushi Chef who uses one himself. It is really easy to use and much easier to clean that a mat made of bamboo and string. If is definitely more expensive than a bamboo mat but worth it.

My husband is a sushi chef and he has been ordering this throughout his 10 year career.

I puchased this to avoid wasting time covering bamboo sheet with plastic film. This product claims to be not sticky which is not true. It does clean very well thou.So it gets sticky after making a few rolls. If you go wash it then dry it you would waste more time by just replacing the film. And you can makes more rolls before replacing the film. If you cover this mat with films, then you dont need to wash it. So why do you spend 50 bucks on this when you can get a bamboo sheet for only 5 bucks?If you are just making a few rolls occasionally, then it might be a good fit for you since it you can wash and dry it easily.If you are a professional and looking for a better tool to save time, then I find it is no difference compares to a regular bamboo sheet.
