Well made and authentic. Needed it for a costume piece and this worked really well. Tag says it was made in Mexico. Stitching is done nicely and I can't find any bad seams on it. This particular color (Blue) is quite nice as well. Looking closely at the material...it seems that different types of stitching and different yarns where used to create the effect and patterns that the poncho has. The edges that surround the arms and open neck area are done well. It is a black strip that keeps the ends from fraying. It is important to note that this is a piece that is to be hand washed only. It is well made...but I feel a washing machine would probably eat this up and destroy some of the more intricate stitching work. It isn't the thickest material, but I think it could certainly block the wind and keep you warm when combined with other gear. I bought it for a costume piece but it looks so cool and is so well made that I will probably take it with me the next time we go camping. It would be perfect for that fall weather and colder evenings around the campfire. If your looking for a traditional Mexican poncho...you can't go wrong with these. Nice price and well made.

This poncho is simple and maybe not the softest, but feels very authentic and durable. I like to wear it out star gazing and imagine I’m an ancient Mayan.

I thought I was in for a quality poncho but instead ended up with something I would have a hard time paying $20 for on the side of the road and making my girlfriend hate me. Not very happy with my purchase.
