Superb value and no shipping damage!
First, we have many of the smaller Seville chrome wire racks which are used for a variety of shelving needs and which were purchased at a regional club-type store. Sizes we had prior to this purchase were the 18"x36"x72 and 18"x48"x72". Overwhelmingly we've been pleased with the Seville wire racks (including some of their corner units) and have well over 20 units for various home storage needs. They're great for an exercise room and I use one to store heavy guitar amplifiers - allows them to be moved around with ease. There are also cloth covers available for these racks if desired. Historically however, we've been unable to find this larger and deeper size except for online. Having read some of the reviews regarding units damaged in shipping, I was a bit concerned with purchasing this unit online although I've had superb experiences with Amazon. The unit arrived in 2 working days and was left outside which is typically the case with our purchases. Overall, I thought the packaging was very reasonable even for this very heavy item. While there were minor scuffs on the box it was entirely intact and protective of contents. Alone, I moved the box into our living room without a dolly or other assistance. It does weigh over 100 lbs and it's a large box so be careful and recognize your own abilities prior to lifting. It's all tightly packaged with the casters and support plastic shelf mounts located in between the wire shelves. I placed the box flat and had no trouble removing contents once the box was open. I would suggest carefully opening and preserving the box in the event it needs to be used for a return. We've assembled many of the Seville's in the smaller sizes so assembly of this unit was intuitive (I didn't view the accompanying instructions for usefullness). The support poles screwed together without difficulty. The rolling casters screwed into the pole bottoms without difficulty - a wrench was also included for the casters. I had my wife assist with placement of the shelves as four hands for shelf placement is practically requisite. We took one pole and used a measuring tape for the shelf placement levels and then penned these positions on paper (e.g. 'can see 3 single grooves and 2 double grooves in between first and second shelves', etc.). Then, with wheels in place and support poles screwed together, we placed the lowest rack on it's side upright and inserted all the poles through the shelf corner holes until they slid over the plastic shelf supports. This occurred without displacement of the plastic supports which was a surprise compared to the smaller units we've assembled - we were very pleased in this regard with the 'fit' of this unit. We then tipped upright the four poles with lower shelf intact for subsequent assembly of the additional shelves. In our case we only needed 4 shelves as I am storing large military deployment bags on this particular rack. By the way, each support sleeve is comprised of two plastic pieces that join together around each pole 'groove'. We then placed the next four support shelf sleeves (an arrow points 'up' on the plastic sleeves) at our predetermined 'next position from bottom shelf' which we had documented prior to assembly. We each took an end of each shelf and lowered over top of poles down to the shelf supports one at a time. We had NO dislocations of the plastic shelf supports for which we were very pleased. It's a hassle when the sleeves 'pop off'. One needs to lower the shelve slowly and level so it doesn't bind on the poles. Use a coordinated effort when approaching the support sleeves so the shelf doesn't knock the sleeves off prior to a good seat. I initially hand tamp and subsequently rubber mallet tamp the shelves into place at the corners. All the shelves seated well. The entire effort took about 15 minutes. We're extremely pleased with this large well constructed storage rack. Assembly was a snap! Of note: The top shelf we installed had a very slight downward bow in the middle horizontal support wire. This was inconsequencial from a funtional perspective. I would not have noticed this very minor deformity had it not been at near eye level. Also, if using the casters, please read the recommended shelf weight limits as they are different than if using the non-caster support feet. All of our Seville racks are on casters and we have 'overloaded' shelves without event. I think their shelf capacity recommendations are very conservative considering that their casters are very robust appearing. We have hard floors and the casters are non-marring. Lastly, don't forget to plan for the lockable caster positions at final assembly. We tend to place the 2 lockable casters in front. Would I buy again? ABSOLUTELY - am ordering another unit now!

Just right
A bit large fit my space, I needed storage rack to organize in small apartment. Very sturdy which was main concern. Wheels work fine. This is high end restaurant quality.Helps with 2 people to assemble. A few ringlets were bent in shipping but no enough to prevent me from assembling. For right space and need, great product. Note I am a Tim Taylor “more power” guy. Not disappointed!

Amazon Prime rocks!
Had two of this delivered. First of all, they are really heavy (117 lbs per box!), had to open the boxes outside and carry the parts inside the house since I had no help. Can't believe these are covered by Amazon Prime's free 2-day shipping! wow, what a steal! Secondly, the shelves are of very good quality, made of thick steel wires and the casters are also very sturdy. Everything looks and feel overbuilt. They are very easy to assemble, did it myself without even reading the manual -I'm a guy ha ha-, no tools needed, just a couple of neurons. Cliff notes: assemble the tubes and screw in casters, lying on the floor, put first shelf, secure it and then the put the other ones. Once you're done, pull it up. Hard to believe the tiny sleeves can handle all that weight but they use physics to lock in (cone shaped holes & sleeves wedge inthe poles), very clever. Highly recommended shelves. BTW, I saw similar but smaller shelves (48' wide only) for >$350 at a local store!UPDATE 11/27/11 the price went up $45 from $184 to $230! wait until it goes down again.

Organize Basement & an assembly tip!
So excited to see these in my basement and garage. Really easy to move around and hold all my big bins.My dad was visiting and assembled these for me with my kids "helping".His great tip is to use masking or other tape to hold the black shelf holders onto the poles. Then when you slide down the shelves, they stay put and your shelves stay level. He assembled all three of the ones I ordered in a very short time. First he assembled each pole and put the casters on. Then he layed a shelf down on it's side. Using masking tape to attach the black shelf holders on the poles then slide the poles into the shelf's pole holes. He used a rubber mallet to tighten the shelf onto each pole. After the first shelf was on the poles, he'd put the assembly upright and then attach the next shelf. First attach the black shelf holders with masking tape (so that they don't open and fall off or move before you get the shelf onto it) to all 4 poles and then slide the shelf down.

Pleased with purchase
I've bought several different sizes of this unit, this is my favorite, heavy duty construction and wheels swivel easily. Putting the unit together was very easy, my husband and I had it together in 15 minutes and that includes reading the instructions. I do have one complaint this unit is very heavy and the box it was packed in was badly torn, the truck driver had a tough time moving it so it was dragged, by the looks of the box I expected the parts to be missing but luckily they were all there. The other size units were packaged much better.

Sent a reject?
Disliked that some parts were dented & unequal as soon as we opened it, which made it hard to put together.Just moved to new house and didn't want to be bothered by return due to need to get organized asap. I believe I was shipped a used overstock, or a REJECT ! Really disappointing.

Good shelving system, however badly made.
This shelving system is heavy duty, however few thing are wrong with it.1) A few of the hole that fit inside the pole is oblong and do not fix correctly.2) One of the shelves had a broken weld on middle bridge.3) All the shelves are not level.4) It was easy to assemble, however it will be easier and faster with two people. This Shelving system is made in China according to the box. One of the box looks like it was opened and repacked again. I am semi happy about the total outcome because my purpose was to organize the items inside the garage.
