Vintage 3 Tier Cake Stand with Wooden Bar Food Cupcake Round Slate Carry Handle

I thought this would have come in more protective wrapping considering it's slate. The 3 pieces of wood were grouped together and wrapped in thin clear plastic, then it's put on top of the 3 pieces of slate which are stacked on top of each other then all wrapped in the thin clear plastic altogether. Although nothing is broken one of the wooden pieces is scratched and there are lots of small bits of slate that has broken off. Be careful of you're opening this over the floor and walking around in bare feet, especially if you have children. Also there is a blob of glitter glue on the bottom slate, don't know if it's used to cover a hole or just an accident. As I need this in time for Christmas I won't be exchanging it. I'm just going to colour over it with a grey Sharpie and not put any food on that part. All in all the material used is good and looks good like in picture but packaging needs reviewing.

This is a lovely place and easy to put together but the slate pips VERY easily and could break if you are not very careful. Also, the centre wood that piece isn’t the best and tilts the slates. It is also very uneven at the base because of the wood. I like it for now but it isn’t something that I’ll be able to keep for a long time.

Shoddy. Bits of slate all over the place when unpacked. Putting it together was easy but doesn’t feel at all sturdy and the top piece of wood is wonky, the thread was not straight. All in all not good quality. Will do the job and I’m sure my husband can straighten the top but wouldn’t recommend this item.

I agree with a number of other reviews that the inside packaging is very poor and does little to protect the product in transit or after use. Many small pieces of slate had chipped off when it arrived, making the edge of one disk quite sharp. For the money it's o.k and looks good, but I don't expect it to last very long.

Great value for money. Easy to put together and a good size for a selection of sandwiches I plan to display on it. I plan to buy a couple more. It comes in a nice box but agree that inner packaging doesn’t protect that much, especially after use. Mine was in perfect condition when it arrived though and as long as you store it carefully afterwards it should be ok.

Easy to use, great for parties

bottom fitting a bit loose, had to use the old joiner skills to secure firmly. Slate good, however wooden inserts not the best quality. All in all for price, will do a turn. Mind you it’s heavy.

Exactly as the description and photos. Good vfm. The top wooden piece is not brilliant. It’s wonky and a little loose.When I’m not using it for food, I have it on my sideboard with bits of my pottery. Nice
