Anima: A Wild Pastoral

Magnificent tale
Having read the first three books of this quatrain, I was excited to see what Kapka did with the fauna of this region. She did not disappoint. The interwoven personal story, combined with weeks spent on the mountains with the sheep, is both intriguing and horrifying. The history of the peoples and their animals, impacted so tragically by various geopolitical realities, is sad to hear and a picture of coming anguish. I will never think of sheep, goats, or shepherds in the same manner. Very engaging writing. I cannot wait to see what she does with Scotland in her next book.

Wonderful
I had never come across Kapka Kassabova and bought this book as a Kindle special offer. I am so glad I did as it's the best thing I have read this year. Superb. I have bought a hardback copy for friend's Christmas present and will be reading Kassabova's other works. Please read this book, you won't regret it.
