End result is great, but needs better instructions
This is how I ended up doing it.1) Attach the fishing line to the candle. Cut off the length of the fishing about 4 inches longer than the hat itself.2) Sticking the pin through the tip of the hat, making sure you have a centimeter of the pin on the inside of the hat, turning the hat inside out, and then feed the fishing line through the pin. While HOLDING ONTO THE LINE, un-invert the hat and make sure the candle is hanging down just inside the hat and not dangling below the brim of the hat.3) while holding the fishing line at the right length with your non-dominant hand, use your dominant hand to tie a knot and cinch it down so the correct height is set, and then knot it again to secure it.4) To install them, I took a hat and measured from the ceiling to the length I wanted and added 12 inches. (don't worry, they give you a LOT of fishing line)5) cut as many as fishing lines to that length as you want.6) I bought some adhesive hooks that actually stick to a vinyl porch ceiling and tied off one end to those hooks by going through the hole, not just attaching it to the hook itself. (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HVQKVV7)7) install the hooks where you want the hats to hang and then feed the other end of the line through the pin on the outside of the hat and pull till you get the length you want; tie it off, and you are good to go!

Perfect for Classrooms
My students loved our hanging hats! It was too difficult to turn the lights on and off each day, so we just stuck with the hats.

Takes a little work to put together!
I absolutely LOVE these. Exactly what I was looking for ! It does take some time putting them all together. The esthetic for my porch is just what I wanted !!

Tiny bats and dim tea lights
The photos with the bats are deceiving. I received a very small bag of plastic bats that are better suited to wear as earrings. They are NOT to scale in the photo. Also you can only see the tea lights glowing in dark light. They are a dim orange color.
