Fit perfectly. I silicon waterproofed them and then polished. Look amazing! Nice solid footwear I use every other day in a busy restaurant. I alternate with a pair of SlipGrip shoes I also like. This method seems to let the leather dry out more completely and last three times longer. They are a little stiff and I put insoles in because I think they will last a really long long time. I am very happy after several months of hard use. A frugal buy in the sense that frugal meaning getting the most for your money, a great value.

Outstanding pair of shoes. Fit good, comfortable, can be worn as dress or work shoes.

Is a good product with steel shank and steel toe plus leather uppers that take a shine well. Tread is nice and aggressive. They are an excellent combination of dress look with true toughness. Quality control however was a problem on the pair I received with the right shoe having a shallow under-formed heel pocket about 1/4 inch shallower than the left. This meant the left shoe fit very well but the right show became painful after about fifteen minutes of walking. Don't know yet if this problem will recur with new orders but hopefully the factory can tighten inspection procedures. See attached photos showing heel pockets of both shoes.Update: Second pair ordered is OK for fit and after using a shoe stretcher for two days on the first pair they also fit now.

I have purchased shoes from Thorogood before and not had this problem. Everything is excellent except the soles, which wore out in 37 weeks of use. Also, I am NOT a mail carrier or police officer; I am 6'-4", 215 pounds, and I am a college professor who did not work from mid-May until mid-August, so the images included with this review represent exactly TWO 16 week semesters, plus 5 weeks of this current one: 37 weeks of use for work-ONLY shoes. I never wore these ANYWHERE except for work where 95% of my steps were on carpet or tile. It seems clear to me that the materials have changed. I never had this issue in the past, and I wanted to like these; they are made in the U.S., etc. but no, absolutely not recommended - this is terrible value for this kind of wear.

I'm a security guard and these shoes are pretty good but they need inserts, because they are a little hard on the feet. Otherwise, they seem perfectly adequate for security work.

Have worn them daily for a few weeks. Comfortable to wear. Did replace original laces with stronger laces that stay tied!

These are a nice looking, well made made shoe which looks like it will hold up for quite some time. While they are sold as work shoes & offer the steel safety toe, I ordered for more casual wear. As such, they will work fine for me. However, I would caution anyone buying these for work to be prepared to possibly need a return. The heel is incredibly shallow. To the point where you could walk right out of these if you turned just right. I somewhat expected this because another reviewer nicely posted. Even so, I was still surprised at just how pronounced the issue is. It is very strange that a company selling a safety shoe at a cost of $85 would sell something so oddly designed. Also, I needed to exchange the first pair due to a bad fit. The heel design was same on both pairs so I don't think it was just a fluke. Aside from this design oddity I would give the company high marks. They were responsive & very helpful - great company!

Thorogood shoes are immediately comfortable. Price is great and made in USA!
