Sally Hansen Miracle Gel™, Bordeaux Glow, Long Lasting, Gel-Like Formula, No UV Lamp Needed, Red Nail Polish

I love this so much I accidentally bought it twice!I bought my first Miracle Gel nail polish when I saw a pretty teal color around Easter time last year and then I realized I had to buy Step 2 also, but the color was so pretty I bought both.This particular review is about this lovely dark green shade. I thought it went on as smoothly as any of the Miracle Gels I’ve used before, and covered nicely in two coats. It could ALMOST have been one cost but the color is so dark that it was still visible that it was thin in some places. With the Step 2 coat that I put on top, this lasted me about a week before starting to chip. I used a sparkly gold/iridescent Step 2 and the one thing about doing that is it made the green seem even darker and at a glance it seemed more black than green. But I haven’t found a good medium green shade and this seemed good for Christmas, reminiscent of evergreens, so I’m still pretty happy with it.The one thing I have never loved about these Miracle Gels is that they don’t want you to bother with a base coat. They do go on well even without one, and they don’t stain my nails with their colors. But I still often use a base coat with them (Orly Top 2 Bottom is nice) and I feel like they’re a bit more resilient when I do. I have in the past misplaced my Step 2 and they seem to do OK with a different topcoat too, in a pinch.

Thinking it was going to be a pale pink color instead it’s a milky pale color but it’s still looks nice on your nails. They look natural and stays on longer than the other nail polishes I’ve used. I think I’ll more colors.

This topcoat is nice and shiny but it for some reason took off the black gel nail polish I used under it.Maybe I didn’t have enough polish on the brush but I let 2 coats of black dry before using theClear top coat and it did remove the color.. I went back and redid the black, let it dry and then applied top coat again this time with a lot of polish on it. That time it worked fine. MayHave been user error. I do recommend as it is nice

This is the perfect color for Christmas and winter. It appears as hunter green or forest green after a second coat. It's very stylish and elegant. For Christmas I added a small sparkle top layer to give it a more Christmasy feel. If you're looking for a more wintery color, just forgo the sparkle top layer.

Takes several coats, but lasts! I use my hands, no desk job here. I have sooo many other polishes that chip or wear within a day or two. This really holds up and I frequently receive compliments on the color. I have blue and light pink as well.

I am comparing this product to salon gels and DIY gels that require a UV light for curing.I had liquid gels applied in a salon years ago until one nail tech retired, and another was fired. I started doing liquid gels at home when you could only get a light through a beauty supply place only available to professionals (my hairdresser got me the UV light), and I ordered my OPI gel polish online. Because of the time it took, I stopped doing my nails entirely. Eventually, Kiss and LA Nails started selling in Walmart, Walgreen's etc., so I updated my UV light (that you could buy in the store) and started doing my own nails again.I had gels done professionally when my niece got married, and they used a dremel to remove my DIY gel. My nails never held gel after that.Doing my own gels was really time consuming at the time, and not holding well after the dremel fiasco, so eventually I stopped wearing polish, until recently. I missed having pretty nails, and unprotected, they were constantly breaking. So, not wanting the time it took to do gels previously, I tried Sally Hansen Miracle Gel.This applied like regular polish, and felt like regular polish, as opposed to gel. For my initial application, I followed the directions with no variations. I am hard on my nails (counting quarters from coin-op washers/dryers, cooking with knife slips, etc.), The polish was chipping, and peeling the weaker of my actual nails after 5 days.I researched Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Tips on YouTube, and found recommendations to do 2 coats color, 1 coat top coat, 1 coat color, 1 coat top coat. This lasted 8-9 days for the most part: my weaker nails chipped/split after 8-9 days. Again, it felt like regular nail polish. I was constantly worried that it would chip like regular polish.I went back to a DIY gel with a UV light cure, and the newer technology takes half of the time of the older DIY gel technology, and it FELT like gel: Hard and more sturdy than regular polish, but didn't look thick at all.

This gives your nails a real nice shine, it lasts not too bad, but if you have some finger work to do it did not last as long as I would have liked. This product also takes quite a while to dry, so plan ahead it you are using it.

Red without top coat in photo. This is by far best I've tried yet for nailpolish. Dried super fast and in perfect condition as u see. 1 coat with red is all I did and it's so vibrant. Bought this for my daughter and now I'm thinking I need this set too.

Color, easy application, long lasting

I was looking for a semi sheer nude polish. Perfect colour! One coat is enough for that perfect sheer white/nude look.
