Wood wicks didn't but do when used correctly
At first I wasn't very happy the wood burned away and just red embers was the total flame I got I tried soy paraffin and bees wax all with the same ending, so I put 2 pieces of wood wick in the metal stand and put them in hot wax for 4 mins pored the wax into the 4oz tin the put the wick I to the wax , well as tou can see it worked it was still burning after 30 mins so if it changes I will update my review

Tricky
So I used this along with beeswax to refill candles I bought last halloween at tkmaxx. I cleaned the containers first.I found the stickers were pretty good at sticking the wicks in place. The problem I had with the first candle in did was unused that weird black clip that comes with the kit and that's useless and terrible tbh. As you can see I used a food bag sealing clip for the second candle and that went perfectly fine. The problem I had was as the wick gets warm from the hot wax it bends and the black thing didn't keep it in place at all so I was trying to straighten the wick (i.e. pull it upright) and the wicks kept coming out of the metal housing! So that's another problem. The metal, once it gets hot, bends and everything loosens so the wicks can come out. I had to our the wax out of the container and stick a new wick in there and it took a lot of faffing and I burned my finger a bit. So my recommendation is to NOT use the black thing. It's terrible & shouldn't exist. It's too slippery and bent in a weird way.... it's just bad. Don't use it! Use a food clip or chopsticks or something else to hold the wick upright. The second candle I filled using the food bag clip went perfectly. The wick didn't slip or come out of the metal housing. So this kit is fine as long as you don't use the weird black thing that comes with it. It's a cheap kit tho so I do recommend it.

They don’t burn
I don’t usually leave reviews but this one annoyed me. I made 10 large candles with these wooden wicks and low and behold they didn’t light. Took about 3-4 attempts to get one to stay lit and it barely held on for a minute. Waste of my time, had to re- melt them all down and start again with wicks that worked. Fumin.

Fun kit!
I’ve been using these to make sure the remnants of old candles do not go to waste. It can take a while to get the process right, but once you do this is a nice and easy way of making new candles. The wicks are good quality and burn way better than most of the OG candles I was recycling! You get so many for such a small price as well, these will last me ages. Very happy.

Very thin and brittle
I used these for small tin candles and were good but if using for larger candles double up as they burn quite quickly.

Look good BUT no good as a Wick
They are hard to light and keep alight.Maybe you have to boil them in wax before you use them.Maybe they only work with a given type of wax.But the flam was so close to wax that it gave no flame. This is not like the one you buy in Farm Shops or Garden Centers :/

unreliable burn for me
I found I have needed two of these and sometimes the burn is unreliable. Not sure if this is down to the wick or the soya wax?
