Winnie’s New Friends
I didn’t realize how short this book was but I enjoyed reading about a time in the 60s that was so memorable. There were more white people like Winnie who fought for equal rights alongside their black friends. Growing up in Roselle NJ, I had equal amounts of black and white friends. The hardships of blacks have always been hard for me to even fathom that many whites could be so cruel and judgmental. We have come a long way but there is still lots to be done.

Another Blume hit!
I enjoyed this story, different from her others.

Good condition
The media could not be loaded. Great read especially for learning about life from another’s perspective even if it is fictional. Love me some Judy Blume!

Great book!
This is Judy Blume's first long book and I gotta say, I was very pleased with how much I enjoyed it. Although her books are a little outdated these days, I still felt this book connected to today's society. I don't have anything bad to say about the book itself and I do think if kids read this book, then it could teach about what goes on in even today's society. Very interesting story!

Good book for teens.
I like this book. I read this book when I was a teen and it helped me understand many things in my teen life so I felt this would help my daughter. She likes the booK and stayed engaged.

Iggy's House
The story was well-written. It does describe some of the problems that blacks go through. A couple of the characters were very touchy. I didn't like Mrs. Land on. I was glad when she said that she would move out of the neighborhood.

Good read
For a child's book, the subject matter was handled rather non-complicated and explains the social disorder of that time in the 60s well. I recommend this book for adults as well as reading it with a younger child.

Great book
This book tells you you should NOT hate someone without getting to know them first especially if you hate them just because of their skin color in this story Winnie stands up to Mrs London to keep the Gabars from moving will it work or will Winnie's family having to leave with the gabars

Relevant for today
Although it is set in the 60's and tackles U.S. race relations it is relevant and makes a child aware of how life was before integration. Suitable for age 10+.

The Garbers (black people) are being racially discriminated by their neighbours. If this book were written by a black author, then I think the Garbers would be a bit more imaginative and less... finicky, because the truth is that the ga

Adult Themes!
Ok, perhaps we will bring this book back when my child is a little older. 7 is too young. We loved Fudge, and I have a very competent reader, but this book was far too adult themed for her! I would say too adult for anyone who is not a teen!
